Tips For Squashing The Bug & Entertaining Your Kid At The Same Time

What’s a parent to do to keep a kid’s boredom away during recovery time? Here are some great  tips I found that I wanted to share with you:
  • Create a fort, pirate cave, or tent with your child in the living room using lots of pillows, sheets, and blankets. Tuck in a sleeping bag and flashlight. If your kid feels well enough, let him wear his favorite costume or cape, and then either play a game, read an adventure book, put together a puzzle, or watch your favorite movie together.
  • Create a stash of sick day boredom-beater activities for a kid who is not feeling terribly bad but must be contained in the home due to a contagious illness or is on health watch. Items can include easy craft projects, puzzles, lego kits, paper dolls, marker or coloring projects (tuck in a new pack–that’s always sure to bring a smile), and other simple and inexpensive items. Be sure, however, not to plan the idea in a kid’s mind that it is so “fun” to be sick that it could encourage a case of the “pretends” in the future.
  • Purchase some inexpensive tub toys just for sick times. It’s always refreshing and sometimes necessary to take a bath, especially when feverish, and slightly-ill children will enjoy having a new tub friend to share the experience with.
  • Tell your child of special treatments on sick days. Parents have shared special times: all-you-can applesauce, new PJs once well, polishing a child’s hands and toes, letting the sick child have a temporary bed on the floor in the parents room with lots of snuggly blankets and pillow, or getting to watch a new movie together.

ARE YOU A FACE OR A BOOK?

I went to the movies last night and watched a trailer on a new movie that is coming out about social media. Social media is very powerful and popular.    Its almost a requirement when you meet someone these days.  Its the newest form of marketing your business or service.  It breaks the ice and makes people feel more comfortable as they view your profile.

A very good friend of mine who is an experienced webmaster told me that people are tired of a sales pitches  and that they want to do business with people they know and trust.  That makes perfect sense.

Daycare Costs: Expenses in Starting A Daycare Business

Category : Daycare Expenses

A daycare is one of the most lucrative businesses in the United States. With America’s economically challenging and fast-paced world, many parents are left with no choice but go work to earn a living and leave their kids to someone who could look after them and daycare centers are the most popular choice.

Some parents, on the other hand, recognize the need to preparatory education for their toddlers so they would be able to face the challenges in a more rigid formal school and daycare centers are the best place for kids to get early childhood education. Investing on a daycare business would surely rake a proprietor promising returns. The amount of returns, however, would depend on how much daycare costs one initially puts into it.

Start-up daycare costs can be cheap or high. It can be a few thousand bucks or up to a million dollars. Daycare costs really vary on what kind of daycare business you want to put up. So to help you properly estimate your daycare costs determine first your target market. Definitely, it would be parents with pre-school aged kids.

But what kind of parents? Lower, middle, upper-middle, or upper class? One has to really determine first the kind of market class the daycare targets to cater. Daycare costs would surely be minimal if lower class parents are the target market and high daycare costs are involved if it’s targeted at upper classes.

Basically, daycare costs on business permits, insurance, facilities or equipment, and staff have to be considered in starting the business. Daycare costs on facilities and staff are usually the heavy ones. Facilities include the place or building where you will operate the daycare. It also includes the toys and other recreational materials as well as books and other educational materials, among others.

The staff is the hired attendants whom you have to pay monthly salaries. Again, the costs of getting these depend on the target market of your daycare. The facilities and staff you have to get should fit the taste and needs of your target market. However, never forsake the quality of your daycare no matter what the target market of your daycare. Always design a customer-oriented daycare to ensure long-term returns. One can save from promotion daycare costs if quality service is rendered, as your customer will do the marketing for you.

Daycare costs can be high or low. Either of which the most important thing is that the daycare would come up decent and worthwhile for parents to spend their money with.
